Access
The index itself is open. Subscriptions pay for the tools built on top of it.
Open to everyone, permanently
These need no account, no login and no payment, and they are not a trial that expires. They are open because a metric nobody can check is worthless, and because an index that cannot be harvested is not infrastructure:
- The journal registry and the full coverage list
- Every article record and its landing page
- Journal metrics, including the numerator and denominator behind every figure
- The inclusion criteria and the methodology in full
- The OAI-PMH feed, complete and unthrottled, for anyone who wants to harvest it
- Applying to be indexed — free, and always will be
No publisher can pay to be listed, to be listed faster, or to be listed more favourably. Nothing on the paid side touches an inclusion decision or a computed figure.

How institutional access works
A subscribing library registers its campus IP ranges and everyone on the network is recognised automatically — no individual account, no shared password. This is how Scopus and Web of Science are sold, and it is what libraries expect.
