About
What this is
An indexing and discovery service for Asian scholarly journals. It keeps a registry of journals evaluated against published criteria, harvests their article metadata, makes it searchable, and offers it back for harvesting over OAI-PMH.
Who operates it
This index is operated by ACS Publisher, which is also a publisher of scholarly journals. That is a real conflict of interest and it is stated here rather than left to be discovered.
ACS Publisher journals in this registry are marked as such. Every one carries a disclosure notice on its entry.
How the conflict is handled
- Metrics cannot be influenced. They are computed from public citation data by the formulas on the Methodology page. The code does not read whether a journal belongs to the operator, and no interface exists that can edit a computed value.
- Eligibility decisions are separated. The pass/fail decision is a human judgement, so it cannot be made safe by code. An operator-published journal is not evaluated by the operator's own staff.
- Decisions are published. Each criterion result appears on the journal's entry with the evidence relied on, whether the journal passed or failed.
- Removals are published, with reasons.
Money
Inclusion is free. There is no application fee, no listing fee, no membership, and no expedited review. Nothing that can be bought affects a decision or a figure on this site.
What being listed does and does not mean
A journal in this registry with the status pending has been discovered from a public listing and has not been assessed. Only indexed means the journal was evaluated and met the criteria.
Nothing on this site is a quality certification, and no journal should present its presence here as one. Metrics describe citation behaviour. They do not describe whether research is correct or worth reading.
Metadata and reuse
The index records bibliographic metadata and links to each publisher's own article page. It does not host full text and does not publish direct links to full-text files. Publishers who want a record corrected or removed can ask, and it will be.
Harvesting
The repository speaks OAI-PMH 2.0 in oai_dc, with sets by publisher country and
by broad subject field:
